LECHS Biology Students Learning About Enzymes

LECHS Biology Students Learning About EnzymesBiology classes at Legacy Early College High School have been learning about enzymes. They participated in a modeling activity using their hand to represent the enzyme and their task was to interact with as much substrate (pennies) as possible in a given amount of time. To model different conditions, students were given a co-enzyme (another student), a competitive inhibitor (tennis ball taped to hand) and a denaturation (their fingers tapes together). They measured the reaction rate for each situation by counting the number of pennies they were able to move.
