Vicki Rowe, THS Teacher, Honored with 2025 H-E-B Lifetime Achievement Award
In a moment of well-deserved recognition, Taylor High School’s very own Vicki Rowe was awarded the 2025 H-E-B Excellence in Education Secondary Lifetime Achievement Award, honoring more than 40 years of dedicated service to students, families, and the field of education.
Mrs. Rowe was recognized during a statewide ceremony in downtown Austin where hundreds of educators, community leaders, and dignitaries gathered to celebrate the best in Texas public education. As a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, Mrs. Rowe received $25,000 in cash and an additional $25,000 grant for her campus—Taylor High School.
The H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards, now in its 23rd year, is one of the largest and most competitive awards programs for educators in Texas. Created in 2002, the program has awarded more than $14 million in funding to recognize teachers, principals, school districts, school boards, early childhood facilities, and counselors who go above and beyond for their students and communities.
This year, $480,000 in total prizes were awarded across multiple categories, including rising stars, seasoned leaders, and lifetime achievers like Mrs. Rowe.
Nominees for the program go through a rigorous selection process involving multiple review panels and interviews with education experts, school administrators, and former award winners. Finalists are selected from hundreds of applications submitted statewide and are surprised with school visits by H-E-B representatives before being invited to the final round of judging.
Mrs. Rowe’s recognition is not just a personal milestone but a point of pride for the entire Taylor ISD community. Her devotion, leadership, and impact over four decades exemplify the spirit of Taylor’s mission to foster greatness in every student.
