Taylor ISD hires Ron Verano at new Executive Director of Maintenance and Operations

Taylor ISD is excited to announce the hiring of Ron Verano as the district’s new Executive Director of Maintenance and Operations.

Verano brings extensive experience as a strategic operations and U.S. Army veteran, having proven skills in facilities management, project planning, team leadership, and cross-functional strategy. With a professional history in public education operations, Verano deeply understands the importance of creating and maintaining safe and clean school environments that allow our students to focus on success.

“Ron Verano brings a great skill set to Taylor ISD, ensuring our students and families see the pride we have as Taylor Ducks reflected in our facilities and operations,” Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Garica-Edwardsen said. “His expertise in school operations will benefit our community as projections show our district growing in the next decade. We are excited to have Ron join our team.”

Verano is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and a former U.S. Army officer, where he led emergency preparedness, logistics operations, and served as a Company Commander focused on early soldier development in Basic Combat Training.

After his career in the military, Verano transitioned into the education field, continuing his dedication to serving others. Most recently, he served as the Director of Facilities for KIPP Texas Public Schools. There, he oversaw operations for 22 campuses and led statewide efforts to expand facilities and strengthen long-term systems. His leadership improved service delivery, retention, and school readiness throughout the system. Now, he’ll bring his proven leadership to Taylor ISD.

“I’m honored with the opportunity to serve Taylor ISD and lead the work that keeps our schools safe, efficient, and student-ready,” he said. "I’m committed to building strong, reliable operations that support every student, every family, every day. Taylor’s proud history and traditions make it a community my family and I are excited to join.”

Verano will help ensure the completion of the district’s 2022 bond projects, and the smooth transition of staff and district inventory to the brand new Support Services and Operations Facilities building behind T.H. Johnson Elementary School this year. He will officially step into the role later in May.
