    The purpose of this chapter shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of students of Legacy Early College High School. Membership in this chapter is an honor bestowed upon deserving students by the faculty, and shall be based on the criteria of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
     

    The four tenants of the National Honor Society are all exemplified in the Legacy ECHS chapter of the organization. Students who are accepted must continually show their commitment to scholarship, service, leadership, and character in order to remain in good standing with the organization. Students in NHS maintain high GPAs, complete service projects, are leaders on and off campus, and set an example for their peers.
