• Volunteering for Taylor ISD

    Welcome and Thank you for your interest in supporting the students, staff and schools of Taylor ISD!
    Taylor ISD welcomes and appreciates the invaluable support of volunteers in our classrooms, libraries, cafeterias and workrooms, as well as motivational mentors to encourage students in need of a supportive adult. The TISD Volunteer Program offers a myriad of opportunities for parents, businesses, community organizations, and civic groups to have a direct impact on the success of our students.

  • Am I a Visitor or a Volunteer?

    VISITORS

    VOLUNTEER BACKGROUND CHECK NOT REQUIRED

    A visitor is someone who would like to visit their child at school or attend campus functions/eat lunch with their child. A visitor does not interact with students other than their own. A visitor should not fill out the Volunteer application. A visitor may simply sign-in at the front office. (Note: first-time visitors to a campus will be asked to present a driver’s license or photo ID to be scanned into the Raptor system at the time of their visit first.)

    Visitor Examples:

    • Visiting or observing their own children in class
    • Having lunch with their children
    • Attending classroom and school events/parties

    VOLUNTEERS

    VOLUNTEER APPLICATION/BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIRED

    A volunteer is a person rendering instructional services for or on behalf of the school/district. Volunteers are given an assignment or task dealing directly with children other than their own while on campus or school-sponsored trips. A parent or guardian who would like to do more than just visit their child, by offering to help the school in some way, is considered a volunteer. Volunteers must complete a Volunteer application and have an annual background check completed by the District before being considered for volunteer duties. Taylor ISD's Volunteer Guidelines & Expectations can be viewed here.

  • Taylor-Aides: Connecting parents and community members with Taylor ISD campus and district needs. 

    All volunteers are invited to join our Taylor-Aides volunteer program!

    Taylor-Aide Volunteer Examples:

    Munch Mentors - building relationships, 30 min/week

    Reading Ducks - 30 min/week reading with kids

    Watch Ducks - monitoring the High School hallways

    Hot Shots - help with last minute needs

    Library and cafeteria help - ongoing needs

    Events or occasional volunteering around your schedule and the campuses you want to be on

    You can volunteer as little as 30 minutes a month, and still make a difference! Please consider joining us!
