  • Brandon Houston

    Brandon Houston is the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Taylor High School.

    Prior to his arrival at Taylor, Coach Houston was the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Buffalo High School for three years. He guided Buffalo to 3 playoff appearances and a 32-6 record during his tenure. 2018 was an historic 12-1 season for the Bison. It was the first time since 1961 that the Bison went 10-0 in the regular season and first outright District Championship since 1974. 2018 was also the first time in Buffalo High School history to advance to the 3rd round of the playoffs. In 2020, the Bison again won 12 games as they advanced to the State Quarterfinals for the first time in school history.

    Coach Houston has over 25 years of coaching experience. He has been a coordinator for over 20 years, running primarily Spread, Read-Option, and RPO schemes.

    In 2005, Coach Houston founded CoachHuey.com as a way to help share ideas and best practices about the game of football with coaches all over the world. The website has grown into one of the preeminent coaching forums on the internet.

    He is a 1991 graduate of Holland High School. Coach Houston received his Bachelors of Science from Tarleton State University in 1996 and his Masters of Art from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin in 2017.

    Coach Houston started his career in 1996 at Ector Junior High, a feeder school for Odessa High School. In 1998 he moved to Calhoun High School in Port Lavaca to coach the secondary. In 1999, Coach Houston became the Quarterback Coach & Passing Game Coordinator at Grapevine High School. In 2005 he returned to Bell County as the Offensive Coordinator & Quarterback Coach at Belton High School. After spending the 2007 season on staff at UMHB, Coach Houston spent the next 7 years as the Offensive Coordinator & Backfield Coach at Lorena High School. In 2015, he returned to Belton High School as the Receivers Coach for one season before becoming the Offensive Coordinator at Rockdale. In Rockdale, Coach Houston helped the Tigers win the 2017 Texas 3A Division I State Championship.

    Coach Houston is married to Misty Pierce Houston. They have one daughter, Mackenzie (Buffalo, Class of 2020).

  • Biography
     
    Chuck Carr joined Taylor ISD in July 2022, from Searcy, Arkansas. He began his teaching and coaching career at Buffalo ISD in 2018, where he taught Algebra 1 and 2, and College Prep Math. During the summer of 2020, he moved back to his hometown in Rose Bud, Arkansas, where he taught 8th grade Math and coached Football and Soccer at Searcy High School, in Searcy, Arkansas. He is excited to be back in Texas and will be teaching Algebra 1, and coaching Football and Boys Soccer.
     
    Coach Carr graduated from Liberty University, in Lynchburg, Virginia, in 2010, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Religion and completed his teaching certification last year.
     
    Chuck has a wife, Janna, of 26 years and 3 grown children, Tim (and his wife, Erin), Alyssa, and Ericka. In his spare time, you can find Chuck either golfing with his family, fishing, or eating fun food!

  • Paul Heintze joined Taylor ISD as the Offensive Coordinator, Head Golf Coach, and Social Studies teacher in June of 2021.
     
    Coach Heintze comes from Elgin ISD where he served as the Wide receivers coach and assistant baseball coach. Prior to Elgin ISD, Coach Heintze followed Coach Houston from Rockdale's 2017 State Championship team to join his first staff at Buffalo ISD where they found immense success including their first District title since 1974 in 2018 including the first undefeated regular season in school history.  
     
    Coach Heintze is a graduate of Rockdale High school where he met his wife and fellow Rockdale alum Mackenzie Heintze, they both would go on to graduate from Texas State University in San Marcos.
     
    Coach Heintze has 2 children Hadley Ann (2018), and Zayne Waylon (2020). Who attend Pre-K and Taylor CDC as proud Taylor Ducks.

  • Coach Kelm joined Taylor ISD as a Teacher and Coach after coaching in Alto, Rice Consolidated, and Hardin Jefferson.  Coach Kelm will be teaching Biology as well as Anatomy.  Coach Kelm will be coaching the Offensive Line in football and he will be the Head Boys Powerlifting Coach.  
     
    Coach Kelm graduated from Randall High School in Amarillo, TX.  He went on to graduate from West Texas A&M with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Education.
     
    Coach Kelm comes from a coaching family.  There are 9 coaches in his family.
